Baltimore, MD January 2, 2017. –  Baltimore band Fractal Cat turns to darker sounds and themes with its third album of all-original material, The Tower, available on CD and online January 26, 2017.

The album release party will take place at WTMD radio station in Towson, MD, and will be broadcast live on radio and online at wtmd.org with a studio audience. The album’s first single “Have I Lost My Way” is in regular rotation on the station since its early December release.

Inspired by the Tarot card of the same name, The Tower defines the time of a radical breakdown of illusion, when a revolutionary force casts forth all that’s been hidden, and illusory walls of comfort and complacency are stripped away. Using dreamlike imagery to speak to urgent social and political matters, this collection of songs synthesizes the timely and the timeless into a passionate and surreal vision for today’s world. The album was produced by Frank Marchand and songwriter Miles Gannett, and was mastered by Bob Olhsson of Motown fame.

The Band

Fractal Cat writes and performs music influenced by the classic decades of rock ‘n’ roll, from Buddy Holly to Smokey Robinson to Syd Barrett. As a seven-piece rock ‘n’ roll band with horns and strings, or as an acoustic trio, the band combines multi-part harmonies with lyrical themes combining social commentary and mysticism.
